Dr. Rosita Tan Inaugural speech
Good evening our distinguished guest speaker Dr. Corazon Jose, ICD fellows, guests, and friends. It is my privilege to welcome all of you to the 44th Annual Convocation and Banquet.
It gives me great pleasure to stand in front of you today and address you as president of a very well distinguished honor society.
When I started my dental practice 45 years ago, it was a realization of a childhood dream, and it fueled a passion to be the best in my craft. After years of practice and service to our profession and community, being elected as President ICD Philippine Section for 2011 may be the pinnacle of my dental career, and being the first Filipino-Chinese to become the President makes it all the more unforgettable.
For this year, I will be launching the Scholarship Program for less fortunate graduating dental students. We hope to be able to give assistance to our needy but deserving dental students who cannot graduate because of financial constraints. Through the help if ICD, these deserving dental students will be able to become dentists and hopefully be able to serve our country and community as well.
I will continue the projects started by my predecessors such as:
- The upgrading of the Poso ng Dentista project at Indang, Cavite.
- The ICD GK Community Development Program,
- The Faculty Development Workshop,
- And the Community Outreach Program to promote oral dental health to the community.
Of course our quarterly seminars will be continued and I am appealing for your attendance and support in all our seminars so that we can foster better camaraderie among fellows and improve our knowledge in various fields as well.
To the new fellows batch 2011, your commitment to the college is the step towards achievement. You are the future of ICD.
